During class recently a teacher had us write a few sentences about what we believe. Just to give you some background there use to be a This I Believe segment on a national radio (http://www.thisibelieve.org/). Its just now got brought back and in light of this he assigned us this task.
My topic was music and how it has been there for me. It was something to help me just express how i feel. Also how its there to help me when there is no one else. Music is just one of those things, to me, that I couldn't go a day without.
As some of you can guess I am one of those people how doesn't really like to show how they feel. We don't like to feel that vulnerable in front of people. So we find different ways to express ourselves. Mine is music because the lyrics of the music I listen to just helps me connect and see the musicians lives through the music. When I connect I can see how it applies to my life and either choose to ignore these experiences or I can learn from them. In a way these songs help tell a part of my life.

I can really relate to your this I believe statement. Music has always been a huge part of my life and I was even considering using it for my this I believe statement with "I believe music gives people something to believe in"

I feel the same way about music and stuff man. Actually I'm listening to music as I type this. It helps me chill out after a long day of school or work.
